I'm Victoria Ball, a bottom of the barrel student at Converse College. My prospective majors are History, Music, and a minor in Secondary Education. I chose to take on the wonderland of college life because I want to explore, inspire, and to truly learn. I specifically chose a liberal arts college, so I could change my mind if need be without ensuing a mental breakdown.
Converse caught my eye because of the friendly faces, the beautiful places, and the wonderful academic adventures I'd be able to pursue in History, Music, and Education. I most definitely did not pursue this college because of the lack of evident testosterone, despite previous disclaimers. But alas, I'm here and am actually quite happy even without the distraction of males.
I decided to venture farther into the realms of music, here at Converse, because I am truly inspired by music and I believe I can inspire others with music, but not before actually learning the basic necessities of music theory, musicianship, and music history. Unlike many here at Converse, I'm coming from the very lack-luster bottom when it comes to musical training; I am, however, willing to work much harder than most people to reach and/or surpass, many experienced musicians.
In closing, I shall answer the long-lasting debate: "If I had to give up cereal or sandwiches for the rest of my life, which would it be?" This is a challenging topic, no doubt, but I suppose my answer would lie with giving up cereal, for alas, I am not a morning or breakfast person, so it would not be the most tragic of losses.
Welcome to Converse and our Student Success Seminar, Victoria! I'm so glad you made your way to us, though I disagree that you're a "bottom of the barrel" student--you seem to be doing just fine so far!
ReplyDeleteAs to your blog writing, be careful with your word choices. For instance, your use of "ensuing" is ALMOST right on, but not quite.
Again, it's great to have you here!
